Everything here comes from the council's two websites, which the APMC says are its only official ones, read on 31 Oct 2026. The older address on the NMC list, apmconline.in, did not load.

Who registers with the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council?

Doctors of modern medicine practising in Andhra Pradesh. The council describes itself as the "Statutory body of the Government of Andhra Pradesh for the registration and regulation of medical practitioners", and its forms cite the Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Registration Act, 1968. Doctors already registered with another state council now have a separate route, PA-19 Express, described below. Our state medical councils overview explains how state and national registration fit together.

What documents does APMC final registration need?

The council's checklist for final medical registration (AP graduates) lists:

  1. Filled-in application form, original
  2. MBBS degree certificate
  3. Internship completion certificate
  4. APMC provisional registration certificate
  5. SSC or CBSE certificate for date of birth
  6. Ethics Awareness Programme certificate
  7. Affidavit in Proforma-A if you apply more than three months after internship, plus two testimonials from the college if more than six months

Graduates from other states attach their MBBS degree, internship certificate, date of birth proof, registration with their own state council and a recent NOC within its validity. Our list of documents required to open a clinic covers what comes after registration.

Is APMC registration online or in person?

Both. You sign up and apply on online.apmc.ap.gov.in, and the portal states that "Slot Booking is mandatory for all registrations", asking you to arrive at least 20 minutes early. Slots are released every Friday at 12 noon, and the council also runs district-level slots under a circular of 16 Jul 2026. Payment is by UPI, debit or credit card; cash and DD are not accepted, and renewal applications are not accepted by post or through a third party. Applications are received from 10 AM to 4:30 PM. Certificates go by registered post: four working days for Tatkal, three weeks otherwise, one month for foreign graduates, and none on the same day. NOC and good standing certificates are emailed to you and to the receiving council, with no paper copy.

For doctors already on another state's register, the PA-19 Express page takes Aadhaar OTP verification, your HPR ID, parent council details and your practice address in Andhra Pradesh. The council's undertaking form calls this the "Simplified Inter-State Registration Procedure - PA 19", under a council resolution of 29 Jun 2026.

When is APMC renewal due and how many CME points?

Every five years. The fee structure says the final MBBS registration "is valid for 5 (Five) years and it has to be renewed every 5 (Five) years thereafter", with a one-month grace period. A ₹1,000 late fee applies up to a year after expiry; beyond that, "no renewal shall be allowed" and you apply for re-registration instead. The renewal checklist asks for CME attendance certificates from the preceding five years "with 30 Credit Points", counted at 1 point for 4 hours and a maximum of 2 points for 8 hours in one day. If CME falls short, the balance is due within three months, with a ₹500 delay fee after that. You can check your points on the council's Check CME Credit Points page. Our renewal and CME credits guide compares states.

How do I verify an Andhra Pradesh doctor's registration?

Use Search Medical Register at apmc.ap.gov.in/medicalregister, which searches by name, gender and father's name, or by final medical registration number. For a national check, the NMC's Indian Medical Register search covers doctors registered with state councils, with the note that "This data is being updated." See our note on the National Medical Register.

Where must the registration number appear?

Clause 1.4.1 of the Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002 reads: "Every physician shall display the registration number accorded to him by the State Medical Council / Medical Council of India in his clinic and in all his prescriptions, certificates, money receipts given to his patients." Clause 1.4.2 limits the suffixes after your name to recognised degrees and qualifying certificates or honours.

Vitels prints prescriptions on your own letterhead, A4 or A5, with your APMC registration number on every page, and verifies the registration when you sign up. Set up the header with the free clinic letterhead maker, or see e-prescription software.
