Comparison
Looking for a Practo Ray alternative? Here is what Vitels does, so you can compare on your own terms
Ray by Practo is Practo's clinic management product. We do not review it here and we make no claims about it. What follows is a plain statement of how Vitels works on the points clinics usually compare: price, offline, printing, data, vendor access and the doctor's speed. Check the same points on any product you are considering.

How should you compare clinic software products?
On the same short list, product by product: total annual cost including per-doctor and per-message charges; what keeps working offline; what the prescription print carries; whether you can export all records without permission; who at the vendor can open patient records; and how fast the doctor can write and print a repeat prescription. Below is Vitels's answer on each.

What Vitels does not have
If any of these matter to you today, Vitels is not yet the right choice, and we would rather say so here. There is no patient-facing booking app, no online payment, no SMS or WhatsApp reminders, no teleconsultation, no lab orders, no ABHA linking and no multi-branch. WhatsApp send, lab orders, teleconsultation, ABHA linking and multi-branch are on the roadmap; the features page lists only what is live.
Pharmacy stock, dispensing and clinical decision support are permanently out of scope, by design.
How to switch
Vitels has no import tool for other products' databases today. Clinics usually start on a Monday with the queue and the pad, and look up older records in the old system for a few weeks while the new history builds. Patient registration is quick: phone number first, family members on one number.
If you later leave Vitels, the full CSV export is yours in one click, with no approval.
- Set up in about ten minutes; verification of medical council registration usually within one working day
- Runs in the browser you already have; no installation
- Named Medyzen operations contact for support

Vitels on the eight points clinics compare
Each statement is about Vitels only. Verify the same point on any other product in its demo.
Price
No licence fee, no per-doctor fee, no per-patient fee, no card. Medyzen, a managed-pharmacy company, builds Vitels to work closely with clinics; that is disclosed on the pricing page.
Offline
Queue, consultation, prescription print, billing and cached patient search continue with no internet. New registration needs a connection and says so.
What is on the print
Your letterhead, logo, qualifications and registration number. No Medyzen branding, advertising, QR code or pharmacy reference on any print.
Your data, out any time
A clinic admin exports the full clinic data as CSV files in a zip, with no approval from Medyzen.
Vendor access to records
No Medyzen staff member has standing access. Support access is designed to go through a reason-gated, time-limited tool that writes to your access log; that tool is not yet in service.
No routing, no data sale
No default routing of patients to any pharmacy, including Medyzen's. No pharma analytics, no advertising, no cross-clinic aggregation. Permanent rules.
Doctor speed
Three-zone consultation screen, no scrolling for a three-drug prescription. Repeat visit in three steps: Start, F4, Ctrl+Enter. Per-doctor favourites and templates.
Multi-doctor
Per-doctor fees, timings, favourites, templates and reports. Reception sees every doctor's queue.
Questions
Straight answers
01Is Vitels better than Ray by Practo?
We do not make claims about other products. The page above states how Vitels works on the points clinics compare. Check the same points on any product in its own demo and decide.
02Can I import my data from another product?
Not today. There is no import tool. Most clinics start fresh with the queue and the pad and refer to the old system for older records for a few weeks.
03Why is Vitels free?
Medyzen is a managed-pharmacy company and builds Vitels to work closely with clinics. That relationship is disclosed on the pricing page and in the application. Nothing in the product routes patients to Medyzen, and prescription data is never sold.
04Does Vitels have a patient app or online booking?
No. Booking is at the front desk. There is no patient-facing app today.
05Will there be a paid plan later?
If a paid tier ever appears, everything free today stays free for clinics already using it, with written notice before any change.
