Vitels AI: what the AI in Vitels does, and what it will never do

Vitels AI is the name Vitels uses on LinkedIn, Instagram and X. It is the same clinic management software for single-doctor and small multi-doctor clinics in India, from the same company. Inside the app, AI does two narrow jobs: it fills in medicine details from typed or spoken names for a person to approve, and it answers how-to questions about the app. It never touches a patient record, never writes a prescription and never suggests a drug or a diagnosis.

In short

Is Vitels AI a different product from Vitels?

No. There is one product, Vitels, at www.vitels.in and app.vitels.in, made by Vedly Technology Private Limited. Vitels AI is the handle the company uses on social media. The clinic management software runs the clinic day: registration, token queue, consultation, prescription pad, billing and reports, offline when the internet drops. The AI inside it is deliberately small. It helps a doctor or clinic admin add medicines to the clinic list and it answers how-to questions about the app. Nothing it produces is saved until a person accepts it.

Why is the AI in Vitels so narrow?

Because the clinic record is the doctor's record. Vitels is record-keeping software: it stores what the doctor decided and makes repeating it fast. Clinical decision support, in any form, is permanently out of scope, and an AI that drafts clinical text is decision support with a different name. So the two places AI appears are the two places a wrong draft costs nothing: a medicine entry that a person reads before it is saved, and a help answer about where a button is.

That is also why both helpers have a visible human step. A medicine card has to be accepted; a help answer is just an answer. Neither can write to a patient record, change a setting, or send a message to a patient.

What goes to the model, and what never does

The medicine helper sends the medicine names you typed, or the audio clip you recorded, to the speech and language models. It does not send the patient list, any consultation, the clinic's name or any staff detail. Vitels does not store the audio. The assistant sends the question you typed and the earlier messages in the same chat, with an app map, the FAQs and the tutorials for your role. It asks you not to include patient details and does not repeat them if you do.

Transcripts of assistant chats are stored and can be read by Vitels support staff, so that a ticket or call-back request has its context. Medicine lookups are not stored beyond the result you accept. The full table, with the vendor and region for each helper, is on AI data handling at Vitels. The wider rules on who can see clinic data are on the security page.

How does this compare with AI in other clinic software?

Several EMRs sold to Indian doctors describe AI that listens to the consultation and drafts the note or the prescription, with drug interaction alerts on top. Whether a doctor wants software that listens and suggests is a clinical choice, and some clinics will want exactly that. Vitels is the other choice, made on purpose. Our comparison pages, such as the HealthPlix alternative and the Eka Care alternative, quote each vendor's own site with the date it was read.

If you are weighing any product's AI, the questions that matter are the same for all of them: which model and company runs it, what data is sent, whether anything is stored or used for training, whether a person reviews every output, and whether you can switch it off. Our guide to questions to ask a vendor about AI goes through them, and this page is Vitels's answer sheet.

In Vitels

The two AI helpers in Vitels

Each one has a fixed job, a human review step and a cap. Rolling out to clinics from November 2026; if you do not see one yet, it reaches your clinic in a later update.

  • Medicine details from a name

Type up to 20 medicine names and press Generate. For each name the AI drafts the composition, type, company and a one-line description, or says Not found. You accept, edit, reject or skip each card. [How it works](/add-medicines-with-ai).

  • Voice note to medicine names

Record a voice note of up to 60 seconds. Azure AI Speech transcribes it in Indian English, the AI keeps only the medicine names, and you edit the text before anything is generated. Audio is not stored.

  • Nothing saved until accepted

A draft becomes a medicine in your list only when a doctor or clinic admin presses Accept. Cards left unreviewed go to Requested Medicines as Approval pending. The AI never sets the prescription status; you choose it from the pack label.

  • Vitels Assistant

In Help and Support, any staff member of a Vitels Pro clinic asks how to do something in the app and gets an answer in English, Hindi or Hinglish. It can open a support ticket or request a call-back. [What it answers](/vitels-assistant).

  • FAQ first, model second

A question that matches a published FAQ is answered from the FAQ with no AI call. Only the rest go to the model, which reads an app map, the FAQs and the tutorials for your role, and nothing else.

  • No patient data to any model

The medicine helper sends only medicine names and the audio clip. The assistant asks people not to type patient details and does not repeat them. Clinic name and staff details stay with Vitels. [What goes where](/ai-data-handling).

  • Visible caps

60 medicine lookups per clinic per hour and 300 voice notes per clinic per day. 10 assistant messages per person per day and 25 per clinic per month, shown in the app as you use them.

  • No clinical AI, ever

No AI scribe, no dictated prescriptions, no drug interaction or dose checks, no diagnosis suggestions. The software records the doctor's decision and never influences it. That is a product rule, not a roadmap item.

What the AI in Vitels does, and what it never does

Both columns are product rules. The left column is live behaviour; the right column is permanent.

Does

  • Drafts composition, type, company and a one-line description for a medicine name you typed or spoke, for your review.
  • Transcribes a voice note of up to 60 seconds in Indian English and keeps only the medicine names.
  • Answers how to do things in Vitels, in English, Hindi or Hinglish, from the FAQs, tutorials and app map.
  • Opens a support ticket or requests a call-back when you ask.
  • Shows you how many messages and lookups are left.

Never does

  • Listens to a consultation, drafts a note or writes a prescription.
  • Suggests a drug, a dose, a diagnosis or a drug interaction.
  • Sets the prescription status of a medicine.
  • Reads or sends patient records, or sends anything to a patient.
  • Saves a draft without a person pressing Accept.
Not for everyone

When Vitels's AI is not what you are looking for

We would rather you find this out here than after you have moved your patients in.

  • You want an AI scribe that records the consultation and drafts the note: Vitels does not have one and will not add one.
  • You want drug interaction, dose or allergy checks: clinical decision support is permanently out of scope.
  • You want to dictate prescriptions: the prescription pad is keyboard-first with favourites and templates, not voice.
  • You want Hindi speech recognition: the voice helper transcribes Indian English and copes with Hinglish phrasing only.
Questions

Straight answers

Is Vitels AI the same as Vitels?

Yes. Vitels AI is the handle Vitels uses on LinkedIn, Instagram and X. There is one product, Vitels, at www.vitels.in and app.vitels.in, made by Vedly Technology Private Limited.

Does Vitels have an AI scribe?

No. Vitels has no AI scribe and no decision support. Its AI fills medicine details for review and answers how-to questions about the app. An AI that drafts clinical text is decision support under another name, and that is permanently out of scope.

Does the AI write or suggest prescriptions?

No. The prescription pad is keyboard-first and the doctor writes every line. The medicine helper only prepares an entry for the clinic's medicine list, which a doctor or clinic admin reviews and accepts before it exists. The AI never sets the prescription status.

Which AI models does Vitels use?

Claude from Anthropic for text (claude-sonnet-5-5 for medicine details, claude-haiku-5-5 for the assistant) and Azure AI Speech from Microsoft for voice transcription in Indian English. These are product settings and may change; this page is updated when they do.

Is patient data sent to Anthropic or Microsoft?

No. The medicine helper sends medicine names and the audio clip. The assistant sends the question you typed with the app's own help content, and asks you not to include patient details. Patient records, the clinic's name and staff details are not sent.

Is the AI included in the free plan?

The medicine helper is available on every plan and is switched on per clinic. Vitels Assistant is part of Vitels Pro at ₹999 per clinic per month, which also covers more than one doctor, the online registration link and revenue analysis.
