Tripura State Medical Council registration | Vitels Online only since 8 Jun 2026: the forms, the fees they print, the documents, the HPR deadline and the public register.

To register with the Tripura State Medical Council (TSMC), apply on the council's online portal; paper applications stopped on 8 Jun 2026. The council's home page at tsmc.tripura.gov.in links a Council Registration Portal at healthcouncil.tripura.gov.in, and its forms section carries the provisional, permanent, NOC and good standing forms that set out the documents and fees. The permanent form says registration is under section 14 of the Tripura State Medical Council Act, 2010, and the council's site says the first council was constituted on 19 Apr 2011. Everything below was read on the council's site on 31 Oct 2026.

What registrations and fees does TSMC list?

Provisional registration, permanent registration, additional qualification, an NOC to move to another council, and a good standing certificate, which TSMC forwards to the National Medical Commission. The fees below are as printed on the council's current forms; they ask for a demand draft on UCO Bank or SBI, which predates the online-only rule, so check the payment method on the portal.

Which documents does permanent registration need?

The permanent registration form asks for self-attested copies of the following, and says all relevant originals must be produced for verification when you apply:

1. MBBS degree certificate or provisional certificate
2. Additional qualification certificate
3. Age proof certificate
4. Internship completion certificate
5. Registration certificate of another medical council, if any
6. Passport size photographs (three copies, one affixed)
7. Demand draft from UCO or SBI Bank
8. Address proof certificate
9. Aadhaar card
10. NOC for registration with another council
11. TSMC provisional registration certificate

The form also asks for an attested admit card of HS or secondary education as proof of date of birth. For provisional registration the intern encloses the Tripura University registration certificate, three photographs, all MBBS mark sheets, age proof and Aadhaar, all self-attested. How do you apply online?

Through the council's website. The 5 Jun 2026 notice asks all doctors "to apply for their Medical registration to the Tripura State Medical Council's online website only" and gives a query number. The home page links the Council Registration Portal (healthcouncil.tripura.gov.in), which opens on a login page. Keep scans of every document on the permanent form's list ready before you start.

Does TSMC require renewal and CME credits?

We found no renewal requirement on the council's site on 31 Oct 2026: the forms section has no renewal form and no notice sets a renewal cycle. Among the council's objectives it lists "To award CME Credit hours to registered medical practitioners attending CMEs by different recognized medical organisations with in the state", but it does not state a number of credit hours a doctor must collect. How do you verify a TSMC registration?

On the council's Registered Doctor's List (tsmc.tripura.gov.in/index.php/view_register_dr), which searches by name or registration number and shows the registration number, qualifications with college and year, registration date and address, and whether an NOC has been issued. A home page notice asks every registered doctor to check their own details on the site and report discrepancies for correction. For doctors registered elsewhere, use the Indian Medical Register search on the NMC website. The National Medical Register is taking over: PIB's release of 23 Aug 2024 says doctors already on the IMR "have to register again on the NMR", and each application is "automatically forwarded to the respective State Medical Council for verification".

Where must the registration number appear?

In the clinic and on every prescription, certificate and money receipt. Clause 1.4.1 of the Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002 says: "Every physician shall display the registration number accorded to him by the State Medical Council / Medical Council of India in his clinic and in all his prescriptions, certificates, money receipts given to his patients." Clause 1.4.2 allows only recognised medical degrees and qualifying diplomas, memberships or honours as a suffix to your name.
