Odisha medical council registration (OCMR) guide What the OCMR lists online, what it does not publish, and how to verify a doctor.

To register with the Odisha Council of Medical Registration, open ocmr.co.in, go to Apply Online and choose the form that matches your case, because the council keeps separate forms for Odisha graduates, graduates from outside Odisha and foreign graduates. Choose carefully: the page says "If you apply in wrong Application form than no refund will be made." The council's old address, www.ocmr.org, now redirects to ocmr.co.in.

Who registers with the Odisha Council of Medical Registration?

Doctors of modern medicine who want to practise in Odisha. The home page calls the OCMR "A Statutory Body constituted under the Odisha Council of Medical Registration Act, 1916 & the Odisha Medical Registration (Amendment) Act, 2010", "vested with powers, duties and function of regulating the practice of Modern Scientific System of Medicine. (Allopathy)". It says anyone who holds the qualifications prescribed in the Act, has passed the necessary exams and wants to practise in Odisha "can register himself" with the council, and that a registered doctor who earns additional qualifications "can get those qualifications also registered".

What registration types does the OCMR offer?

The council's Registration Fee page carries one line, "Registration fees : 1000/- Rs per year", without saying which service it applies to (read 31 Oct 2026). Treat it as a pointer, and confirm the amount for your application with the council. The Apply Online page also has a "Pending Payment" link.

What documents does OCMR permanent registration need?

The OCMR website does not publish a document list (read 31 Oct 2026). Its home page names a "Check List given for all registrations", but the link did not open a document. Does Odisha require renewal and CME credits?

Renewal exists: the Apply Online page has an "Application form for Renewal Registration", and the home page names a "Public Notice for Renewal of Registration". The notice itself did not open on 31 Oct 2026, so we cannot state the renewal period or any CME credit requirement. The council has a CME committee and a CME page for organisers, which also carries no credit-hour rule. How do I verify a doctor's Odisha registration?

Use the Indian Medical Register search on the NMC website, which lists doctors registered with state councils and can be searched by name, registration number, year or council; the NMC notes "This data is being updated." The "Registered Doctors List" link on ocmr.co.in leads to results.ocmr.co.in, which asks for a roll number and does not search doctors by name or registration number. Where must the registration number appear?

On prescriptions, certificates, money receipts and in the clinic. Clause 1.4.1 of the Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002 reads: "Every physician shall display the registration number accorded to him by the State Medical Council / Medical Council of India in his clinic and in all his prescriptions, certificates, money receipts given to his patients."
