A MediXcel alternative for OPD-only clinics, compared point by point, with dates and sources

Vitels is clinic management software for single-doctor and small multi-doctor clinics in India, and a MediXcel alternative for clinics that want the price, offline scope and export rules in writing. Everything said here about MediXcel comes from the websites of its maker, Plus91 Technologies, as read on 30 Oct 2026; those pages say little about the clinic product, and where they are silent, we say so.

In short

Is Vitels a MediXcel alternative?

For an outpatient clinic, yes. Vitels is clinic management software for registration, token queue, consultation, prescription print and billing, with no licence fee for core use. For a hospital, no. Plus91's site, read on 30 Oct 2026, presents MediXcel as "The complete hospital information system" with inpatient, outpatient, pharmacy, lab, billing and imaging workflows, and a clinic edition, MediXcel LITE, with "ABDM-linked digital health records". Vitels has no IPD, pharmacy, lab or ABDM linking.

What does Plus91 say MediXcel offers?

Plus91's website, read on 30 Oct 2026, presents three products under the name: MediXcel, "The complete hospital information system" with "Full inpatient & outpatient EHR with ABDM compliance" and dashboards for a hospital's CMO, CIO and CFO; MediXcel LITE, which "gives independent clinics and group practices everything they need" as a "Cloud-based EMR" with appointments, billing and prescriptions, WhatsApp and SMS patient engagement and ABDM-linked records; and MediXcel LIMS for laboratories. The dedicated MediXcel platform page on plus91.in carries the product name and the company tagline and no feature list, and medixcel.in is a one-screen page titled "EMR, Patient Engagement and Practice Management".

That is the whole of what the vendor's own pages publish about the clinic product. No price, no trial length, no platform beyond "cloud-based", no offline statement, no print or export statement. Everything else you may have read about MediXcel comes from marketplaces or resellers, which we do not repeat. Ask Plus91 in writing for the LITE price per doctor or per clinic, GST, the SMS and WhatsApp message charges, what ABDM linking includes, and how a clinic exports its records if it leaves.

When does MediXcel suit a clinic better?

If your clinic needs any of the following today, Plus91 documents them on its site and Vitels does not offer them.

If you are weighing a clinic product against a hospital one, read hospital software vs clinic software first.

  • A hospital information system with inpatient, pharmacy, lab and imaging modules
  • ABDM-linked health records and ABHA at the desk
  • A group practice with several sites on one platform
  • FHIR, HL7 or DICOM integration with other systems
  • A clinical AI product from the same vendor

When does Vitels fit better?

Vitels suits the one-to-few-doctor OPD that wants only the OPD, with the price in writing and the desk still moving when the broadband drops. The queue, the pad, the print and the bill all carry on offline, the print carries only your letterhead, and the clinic admin can take a full export whenever they like.

How do you switch from MediXcel to Vitels?

Vitels has no import tool for other products today, and Plus91's site does not state how a clinic exports its records from MediXcel, so ask Plus91 in writing for a full export of your patients and visits before you change. Keep read access to the old system while the new history builds. Our guide to moving your data when you switch clinic software covers what to ask for.

Questions

Straight answers

How much does MediXcel cost?

Plus91's own websites, read on 30 Oct 2026, do not publish a price for MediXcel or MediXcel LITE; the clinic edition is described only as without an enterprise price tag. Ask Plus91 for a written quote. Vitels has no licence fee for core use, and Vitels Pro is ₹999 per clinic per month.

Is medixcel.com the MediXcel clinic software?

No. On 30 Oct 2026, medixcel.com belonged to a Saudi Arabian health group unrelated to Plus91's EMR. The Indian product's own pages are on plus91.in and medixcel.in, and those are the only pages this comparison uses.

Does MediXcel work offline?

Plus91's site calls MediXcel LITE a cloud-based EMR and does not say whether any task works offline. In a demo, switch off the router and try to call a token, print a prescription and record a bill. In Vitels those steps work offline; only new patient registration needs a connection.

Can I move my records from MediXcel to Vitels?

Not automatically. Vitels has no import tool today, and Plus91's site does not state its export options, so ask them for a full export before you switch. Leaving Vitels later is one step: a clinic admin downloads the full CSV export with no approval.

Is Vitels connected to MediXcel or Plus91?

No. Vitels is made by Vedly Technology Private Limited and has no affiliation with Plus91 Technologies Pvt Ltd. The MediXcel name is used only to identify the product being compared.

MediXcel is a trademark of its owner. Vitels is not affiliated with or endorsed by Plus91 Technologies Pvt Ltd. Statements about MediXcel come only from plus91.in and medixcel.in as published on 30 Oct 2026 and may have changed since; medixcel.com is an unrelated company and is not used.
