Software for multi-doctor clinics

Multi-doctor clinic software one front desk, a queue for each doctor

Vitels is clinic management software for single-doctor and small multi-doctor clinics in India. With Vitels Pro, each doctor in the clinic has their own queue, fees, consultation duration, weekly availability, favourites and templates, while one front desk sees every queue and reports split by doctor. Pro is ₹999 per clinic per month, flat, not per doctor.

In short

What does a clinic with two or three doctors need from software?

It needs one record of every patient that all the doctors share, and everything else kept per doctor: a queue for each doctor, each doctor's own fee and consultation time, their own days and hours, and their own prescription favourites. The front desk needs to see all the queues on one screen, and the owner needs the day's patients and collections split by doctor. In Vitels this is part of Vitels Pro, on top of the free core clinic management software.

How does Vitels keep two doctors' patients apart without splitting the clinic?

The patient record belongs to the clinic, not to one doctor. If a patient sees one doctor in March and the other in June, the second doctor opens the same record with the earlier visit and prescription in it. What is kept per doctor is the work around the visit: the queue the token sits in, the fee on the bill, the consultation duration that drives the waiting estimate on the token slip, and the doctor's own favourites and templates on the prescription pad.

At the desk, a receptionist registers or finds the patient once and puts them in a doctor's queue. If the patient should see the other doctor instead, the token is reassigned; nobody re-registers them. Each doctor's screen shows only their own line, so a doctor is never calling the other doctor's next patient.

What does a multi-doctor clinic pay for Vitels?

₹999 per clinic per month for Vitels Pro, billed monthly through Razorpay. The price does not go up when you add a third or fourth doctor, and there is no per-patient fee. New clinics get a 14-day Pro trial with no card needed to start. Clinics that signed up before Pro launched keep more than one doctor at no charge. Full details are on pricing.

Pricing per doctor is common in this category, so when you compare products, work out the monthly cost for the number of doctors you will have in a year, not the number you have today. Our comparison of clinic software in India lists each product's published pricing model with a date.

What happens to the extra doctors if the clinic stops paying for Pro?

Doctors already added keep working. Their queues, records, prescriptions and bills carry on as before. What locks is adding the next doctor, switching the online registration link back on and revenue analysis. Records, the queue, billing and the full data export never depend on Pro.

Is a polyclinic with ten specialists a fit?

Vitels is built for small outpatient clinics: two to a handful of doctors sharing one front desk, in one location. A larger polyclinic can run on it if all it needs is the OPD, but it will not find specialty charting, imaging, lab orders, IPD or a pharmacy store. If you have more than one branch, Vitels does not link branches today. A hospital system is the better fit there; our page on hospital management software vs clinic software explains the line.

In Vitels

What each doctor gets, and what the desk sees

Each item is a live part of Vitels today. Adding a second doctor needs Vitels Pro; everything else on this list runs in the same app.

  • Add a doctor

The clinic admin adds a doctor with their registration number, fee, consultation duration, follow-up and weekly availability, or sends a single-use invitation for the doctor to fill in their own details.

  • A queue for each doctor

Reception assigns each token to a doctor. Each doctor sees their own current patient, the next three and the rest of their line, with one main action.

  • One desk for all doctors

The front desk sees every doctor's queue and moves patients through them. Attendants can be assigned to one doctor, several or all.

  • Fees per doctor

Each doctor's fee is the default on the bill for their patients. Cash, UPI and card go into one day book for the clinic.

  • Timings and leave

Each doctor's sessions, leave and closed days sit in the clinic calendar, so the desk books only into hours the doctor actually sits.

  • Favourites and templates per doctor

Prescription favourites and multi-drug templates belong to the doctor who made them. Complaint and diagnosis suggestions come from that doctor's own visits.

  • Reports by doctor

Patients per day and per-doctor counts on reports. Revenue analysis with a per-doctor split for clinic admins.

  • Each doctor signs in as themselves

Every doctor signs in with their own +91 mobile and OTP, so the record shows who wrote each prescription. Removing a doctor's access ends their session at once.

Questions to ask any vendor before adding doctors

Ask them in the demo with two doctor logins open side by side.

  1. What does each extra doctor cost per month, and is there a cap on doctors?

  2. Does each doctor get their own queue, or one shared line the desk has to sort by hand?

  3. Can each doctor have their own fee, consultation time and days in the clinic?

  4. Are favourites and templates kept per doctor, or shared by everyone?

  5. When a patient moves from one doctor to the other, does the second doctor see the first doctor's visits?

  6. Can I see patients and collections split by doctor, and who in the clinic can see that split?

  7. If I stop paying, what happens to the doctors already set up and to my records?

Not for everyone

When Vitels is not the right fit for a group practice

We would rather you find this out here than after you have moved your patients in.

  • Clinics with more than one branch that need one view across branches: multi-branch is not available today.
  • Hospitals or nursing homes with IPD, wards, pharmacy stock, lab or insurance desks: Vitels covers the OPD only.
  • Practices that need teleconsultation or online payment at booking: neither is available.
  • Specialties that depend on charting or imaging inside the record, such as dental charts: Vitels has no specialty charting.
Questions

Straight answers

Can two or three doctors use Vitels in one clinic?

Yes. Each doctor has their own queue, fees, consultation duration, availability, favourites and templates. Reception sees every doctor's queue, and reports split by doctor. More than one doctor is part of Vitels Pro at ₹999 a month; clinics that signed up before Pro launched have it at no charge.

Is Vitels Pro charged per doctor?

No. Vitels Pro is ₹999 per clinic per month, flat. It does not change with the number of doctors or patients.

Do doctors share patient records?

Yes. A patient record belongs to the clinic, so any doctor in the clinic who sees the patient opens the same history. Queues, fees, favourites and templates stay per doctor.

Can a visiting consultant who comes two days a week be added?

Yes. Add them as a doctor and set their weekly availability to the days they sit. Their fee, queue and favourites are their own. How you pay a visiting consultant, including TDS, is covered in our guide on [TDS when a clinic pays a visiting consultant](/blog/tds-when-a-clinic-pays-a-visiting-consultant).

Can a receptionist work for only one doctor?

Yes. Attendants can be assigned to one doctor, several or all of them.

What happens to the second doctor if Pro lapses?

Doctors already added keep working. Only adding another doctor, switching the online registration link on again and revenue analysis lock until Pro is renewed.
